Cambo Thespian Performances
At Cambo First School we have a strong, recognised arts ethos across the whole curriculum. Our children really enjoy watching live performances and being involved in performing for the community. The experience gives them bag loads of confidence! We feel that we have potential stars in the making!
2021 brought many a covid problem and we did talk about doing no Christmas performance at all… But…. No Christmas performance at Cambo? Staff and children alike felt this was something we just couldn’t let happen! So…in 2021 for our Christmas performance we chose to perform ‘The Honky Tonky Donkey virtually.
And this year 2022?’
A LIVE CHRISTMAS PERFORMANCE!!!! ‘despite the illnesses sweeping our school! we performed ‘Baarmy Bethlehem’,The costumes were brilliant, the acting, singing and dancing a marvel.
Thankyou to Dawn and Sharon who made and served the food and refreshments
Thankyou to Gary for the Raffle!
Well done everyone! A super time for all.
We also created a christmas carol cd for Age Concern. We sold the CDs to the community for £3 each and managed to raise £93 for a very worthy cause. We then took our singing into the community with Reception to Year 4 singing in bubbles, in Cambo village for everyone. We also made a special visit to Mrs Wallace who was celebrating her 102nd birthday. Mrs Wallace used to be the secretary at Cambo First School, many year ago. In fact, Dawn our cook, told us that when she started Cambo she can remember Mrs Wallace being in the school office.
Many thanks to Kathy Anderson who played the live music for all events and worked with staff and children on the songs!
Well done everyone!
